West Orange, NJ Welcome to the Elmwood West Campus
 Elmwood West, located in West Orange, New Jersey, is one of the three worship and ministry sites of the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. This site was established on April 29, 2001 as a response to the growing number of individuals and families moving to West Orange looking for a faith community and dynamic, meaningful worship. On March 20, 2010, the Presbytery of Newark approved the creation of the West Orange Presbyterian Center (WOPC). Elmwood West and the United Presbyterian Church of West Orange were granted co-occupancy and co-oversight of the WOPC campus. Elmwood West and the United Presbyterian Church of West Orange covenant to work together as “two congregations – one community of faith”, celebrating diversity, seeking visible oneness through Jesus Christ, and working together for the reconciliation of the world.Elmwood West is an emerging church in the West Orange community that is centered on the development of community, cultivation of family, and individual wholeness. We believe that when the community is strong, so are families, and when families are strong so are individuals. As a predominantly African American Presbyterian Church, we adhere to the teachings of Reformed Theology and believe in the sovereignty of God. In addition, we are a church that embraces the teachings of Black Theology and Liberation Theology. We are a church that is committed to opposing and eradicating social, political, economic and material oppression. We believe in and embrace the diversity of the body of Christ and God's call to inclusiveness and unity among all believers. Our goal is to be one of the premier worship and ministry sites in West Orange - one that offers a variety of ministries for single persons, young families with children and youth and young adults.
