ABOUT ELMWOOD

INTRODUCTION

We welcome you again to Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. We are one church in three locations. Elmwood East is our main site, Elmwood West is our second worship site which began in April of 2001, and Elmwood Central is our third worship site which was created from the merger of Central Presbyterian Church with Elmwood on March 1, 2007.

We are a growing African American Church of just over 1000 persons. Our main location in East Orange, NJ seeks to serve the diverse population of African Americans and people of African descent that comprise most of the population in our ministry area. At Elmwood, we value worship and offer several opportunities to worship on Sunday mornings. We also have a mid-week worship/Bible study service. We value people and enjoy sharing the life changing power of Christ with others. Youth and young adults are important to us. We recognize the immense talents and gifts of young people and create exciting opportunities for youth to participate in the life of the church. Our current ministerial programs include something for everyone. The ministries are designed to meet some of the pressing needs of our communities. You are invited to join us and grow in Christ!
